Giving opportunity for the widows to share their own story…

Tears slowly made their way down the face of Mrs. Beatrice Osahon, narrating her ordeal to The Synagogue Widow’s Forum. Tears equally trickled down the sombre faces that made up the audience, sympathising with her pathetic condition. With the untimely death of her husband, her children scattered and her family having rejected her, what hope seems to be left? Financial oppression left her fighting for her daily bread and the struggle to survive seemed an uphill battle. The toils and pains of life can often lead one to the impression that hope is a land far away, too distant to discover. However – in the midst of despair, the light of truth shines in the eternal promise that, “a father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in his holy dwelling” (Psalm 68:5). When everything around you suggests there is no future – God steps in.

Jesus stated in His mission statement that His ministry was to the lost and broken hearted. (Luke 4:18-19). At Emmanuel TV, Christ’s mission is our mission. The Synagogue Widow’s Forum provides the opportunity to step out with love and compassion to meet the needs of the hurting and lonely. Prophet T.B. Joshua says, “Your contribution to others is an assignment from God – therefore, build your life and future around your contribution to others”. Both the Emmanuel TV and The SCOAN teams give practical support to the widows on their road to recovery, providing both financial and humanitarian support. In a world that cares less, our goal is to care more. In each episode, a different individual shares their personal experience with the audience. The audience and guests are encouraged that Jesus is the Friend closer than a brother, a Father who will never die, the Repairer and Restorer whose love is unfailing and faithfulness is never ending.

“Earth has no sorrow that Heaven does not feel.”  Prophet T.B. Joshua
